Este protocolo demuestra un método novedoso para aplicar terapias génicas a subpoblaciones de células en ratas neonatas a edades postnatales de 5 a 10 días mediante la inyección de un modificador quimiogenético anterógrado en la corteza somatomotora y una recombinasa Cre retrógradamente transportable en la médula espinal cervical.
