Lukningen af et patent foramen ovale (PFO) er et kateterbaseret indgreb for at forhindre PFO-associeret slagtilfælde. PFO-okklusionsanordningen føres gennem lårbensvenen og indsættes over det interatriale septum ved hjælp af transesophageal ekkokardiografi (TEE) og fluoroskopisk vejledning.
