De CAM-Delam-test om de gemetastaseerde capaciteit van kankercellen te evalueren is relatief snel, eenvoudig en goedkoop. De methode kan worden gebruikt voor het ontrafelen van de moleculaire mechanismen die de vorming van metastase reguleren en voor het screenen van geneesmiddelen. Een geoptimaliseerde test voor het analyseren van menselijke tumormonsters zou een klinische methode kunnen zijn voor gepersonaliseerde kankerbehandeling.
