Den nuværende protokol beskriver en standardiseret resektion af hjernetumorer hos gnavere gennem en minimalt invasiv tilgang med et integreret vævsbevaringssystem. Denne teknik har konsekvenser for nøjagtigt at afspejle standarden for pleje i gnavere og andre dyremodeller.
