Um balanço de filme de superfície de gota pendente implementado com uma troca multi-subfase, apelidada de OCTOPUS, permite imitar condições digestivas pela troca subfásica sequencial da solução a granel original com fluidos gastrointestinais simulados. A digestão in vitro simulada é monitorada registrando in situ a tensão interfacial da camada interfacial digerida.
