Traditioneel wordt diepe veneuze trombose (DVT) van de onderste extremiteit gediagnosticeerd door radiologie-uitgevoerde veneuze duplex echografie. Zorgverleners die op de juiste manier zijn opgeleid in gerichte point-of-care echografie (POCUS) kunnen een snel onderzoek aan het bed uitvoeren met een hoge gevoeligheid en specificiteit bij ernstig zieke patiënten. We beschrijven de scantechniek voor gericht POCUS DVT-onderzoek van de onderste ledematen.
