We hebben de placenta als een belangrijk hematopoietische organen tijdens de ontwikkeling. Wij vonden dat hematopoietische stamcellen (HSC's) zijn beide gegenereerd en uitgebreid in de placenta in unieke microenvironmental niches. We beschrijven hier experimentele technieken die nodig zijn voor isolatie en visualisatie van HSC in de muis placenta.
