Ardjan van der Linden Department of Computational Biology Eindhoven University of Technology Biography Publications Institution JoVE Articles Ardjan van der Lindenir. Ardjan van der Linden is a PhD candidate in the department of Computational Biology at the Technical University of Eindhoven. Prior to starting the PhD, Ardjan completed his Bachelors and Masters in Biomedical Engineering under the supervision of Dr. T. F. A. de Greef at the Technical University of Eindhoven. During his masters, Ardjan completed an internship in the Lab of Prof. J. Aizenberg at Harvard University, USA. He subsequently returned to the group of Dr. T. F. A. de Greef where he started his PhD focusing on the characterisation of synthetic genetic networks in a cell-free, microfluidic environment.Throughout his studies, and during his PhD work, Ardjan has directed his efforts towards the fabrication of multilayered microfludic flow reactors, with the ultimate goal of implementing these devices in the study of novel genetic networks. Utilising microfluidics, he aims to circumvent the limits of conventional cellular approaches within the field of synthetic biology, by creating a highly controllable, out-of-equilibrium environment wherein protein expression can occur, and dynamic systems behaviours can be observed.
