Damian Jacenik Department of Cytobiochemistry University of Lodz, Faculty of Biology and Environmental Protection Biography Publications Institution JoVE Articles Damian JacenikAssistant Professor Damian Jacenik is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Cytobiochemistry of the Faculty of Biology and Environmental Protection at the University of Lodz, Poland.In his research, he focuses on the impact of estrogen signaling and G protein-coupled receptors on the development and progression of gastrointestinal pathologies such as irritable bowel syndrome and inflammatory bowel diseases as well as colorectal cancer.Using animal models of gastrointestinal disorders and numerous techniques he evaluates the significance of estrogen and G protein-coupled receptors in the pathophysiology of the colon and assesses certain receptors as potential targets in the therapy against gastrointestinal diseases.Research works of dr. Damian Jacenik are supported by grants from the National Science Centre, Poland.
