Grande is a chemist by training and leads the biorefinery team in the ABB group at IBG-2, Forschungszentrum Jülich GmbH. He developed the lignocellulose fractionation process OrganoCat at RWTH Aachen University and continues to develop innovative valorization strategies and technologies for plant biomass valorization and conversion/modification of the main fractions cellulose, lignin and hemicelluloses, based on the Green Chemistry principles.
