Rachele Lubeckyj Department of Chemistry Michigan State University Biography Publications Institution JoVE Articles Rachele Lubeckyj Rachele Lubeckyj is an Analytical Ph.D. Candidate at Michigan State University in the Chemistry Department. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from University of Michigan-Flint. Rachele is currently in her third year in Dr. Liangliang Sun’s research group. Her current project focuses on utilizing capillary electrophoresis-tandem mass spectrometry for the identification, characterization and quantification of intact proteins isolated from single cells obtained from Zebrafish. Zebrafish is an important vertebrate model system for understanding early embryogenesis, due to its high genetic similarity to human. Single cell proteomics is an invaluable tool for understanding the roles played by the cell-to-cell heterogeneity in diseases and development. For developmental biology, single cell proteomics of blastomeres in early-stage embryos is extremely useful for understanding the underlying mechanism of early cellular differentiation during the early embryogenesis.
