Ruurd van Elburg Department of Pediatrics University of Amsterdam & Amsterdam Umiversity Medical Center Biography Publications Institution JoVE Articles Ruurd van ElburgProf Dr After finishing Medical School at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam The Netherlands (1980-1989), I have done my PhD at Rijks Universiteit Groningen (1989-1995).My PhD thesis was "The Sugar Absorption Test: Clinicopathophysiological considerations" I started my Pediatric residency program in 1993 at the Beatrix Children's Hospital Groningen combined with The Isala Clinics Zwolle. I finished my residency in 1998 and started my fellowship Neonatology at VU University Medcial Center in Amsterdam in the same year. I worked as a pediatrician-neonatologist from 2000-2011 at the department of Neonatology at VU University Medcial Center, combining clinical practice, teaching and research. From 2011 - 2019 I worked as Chief Scientific Officer at Danone Nutricia Research in Utrecht. From 2015 onwards I have been appointed Professor of Early Life Nutrition at University of Amsterdam, Amsterdam University Medical Center, The Netherlands. I have published 150 articles included in PUBMED and wrote > 20 book(chapters).
