Liao Songyan Department of Medicine The University of Hong Kong Biography Publications Institution JoVE Articles Liao SongyanResearch Assistant Professor Liao Songyan, M.D., Ph.D. is a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine, The University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong. His current research is centered on stem cell therapy for cardiovascular disease. Dr. Liao obtained his Ph.D. from the Department of Medicine at The University of Hong Kong in 2013, under the supervision of Prof. Tse Hung Fat. He finished his postdoctoral training from 2014 to 2017 before taking a Research Assistant Professor position in same institution. Dr. Liao’s lab has nearly twenty years experiences in small and big animal surgery in cardiovascular system and stem cell therapy for myocardial infarction and heart failure. His current work focuses on cardiac tissue engineering for heart regeneration.
