This video demonstrates the establishment of a brain metastasis mouse model by intracarotid injection of fluorescently labeled cancer cells. The mouse model can be used to study the effects of novel therapeutics and the underlying physiological mechanisms.

Protocol

All procedures involving animal models have been reviewed by the local institutional animal care committee and the JoVE veterinary review board. 1. Prepare Mice for Tumor Cell Injection Anesthetize a mouse by intraperitoneal (i.p.) injection of ketamine/xylazine cocktail (ketamine 100 mg/kg, xylazine 10 mg/kg).
