Dit protocol beschrijft de fabricage en karakterisering van een fotoresponsieve prodrug-kleurstof nanoassemblage. De methodologie voor het vrijkomen van geneesmiddelen uit de nanodeeltjes door door licht veroorzaakte demontage, inclusief de lichtbestralingsopstelling, wordt expliciet beschreven. De geneesmiddelen die vrijkwamen uit de nanodeeltjes na lichtbestraling vertoonden uitstekende antiproliferatie-effecten op menselijke colorectale tumorcellen.
