Laser ablatie electrospray ionisatie (LAESI) is een atmosferische druk ionenbron voor massaspectrometrie. In de beeldvorming modus, een mid-infrarood laser peilt naar de verdeling van moleculen over een tissue sectie of een biofilm. Deze techniek biedt een nieuwe aanpak voor de diverse bio-analytische studies onder autochtone experimentele omstandigheden uitgevoerd.
