Een methodiek om de neurale mechanismen die bewust en onbewust het geheugen te ondersteunen tijdens vreesconditionering onderzoeken wordt beschreven. Deze methode controleert het bloed zuurstof niveau afhankelijk (BOLD) functionele magnetische resonantie imaging, huidgeleiding respons en ongeconditioneerde stimulus verwachting tijdens de Pavlov vreesconditionering naar de neurale correlaten van verschillende geheugenprocessen te beoordelen.
