De complete bouw van een aangepaste, real-time confocale scanning imaging-systeem is beschreven. Dit systeem, dat gemakkelijk kan worden gebruikt voor video-rate microscopie en microendoscopy, zorgt voor een scala aan imaging-geometrieën en toepassingen die niet toegankelijk zijn met behulp van standaard commerciële confocale systemen, tegen een fractie van de kosten.
