Er wordt een protocol gepresenteerd om het totale lipidegehalte van de celwand van een breed scala aan mycobacteriën te extraheren. Bovendien worden extractie- en analyseprotocollen van de verschillende soorten mycolzuren getoond. Een dunne-laag chromatografisch protocol om deze mycobacteriële verbindingen te controleren is ook aanwezig.
