Entomopathogene schimmels hebben aan belang gewonnen als de biologische bestrijders van landbouwinsectenplagen. In deze studie werd de massaproductie van een voldoende aantal veerkrachtige infectieuze propagules van Zuid-Afrikaanse isolaten van zowel Metarhizium robertsii als M. pinghaense voor commerciële toepassing tegen insectenplagen met succes uitgevoerd met behulp van landbouwproducten.
