Dit protocol beschrijft het oogsten, hechten en bewaken van fasciocutane flappen bij ratten die een goede visualisatie en manipulatie van de bloedstroom door de oppervlakkige inferieure epigastrische vaten mogelijk maken door middel van het klemmen en ligeren van de dijbeenvaten. Dit is van cruciaal belang voor studies met ischemische preconditionering.
