Andrea Sánchez Peña Department of Microbiology and Immunology University of Iowa Biography Publications Institution JoVE Articles Andrea Sánchez PeñaPhD student Andrea is a Microbiology PhD student at the University of Iowa. She received her Bachelors of Science in Cellular-Molecular Biology at the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus in 2018. Currently, she is a member of Dr. Limoli’s lab where their main goal is to understand the polymicrobial interactions in the lungs of cystic fibrosis patients, in order to modulate community behavior and improve patient outcomes. Her specific project focuses on understanding how the bacterial interactions of Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Staphylococcus aureus that are observed in vitro, could influence the lung environment.
