He received a Ph.D from the University of Tokyo, Japan.Dr. FUTAHASHI received the Young Scientists' Prize from the Commendation for Science and Technology by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, the Young Scientist Initiative Award from the Society of Evolutionary Studies, and the Young Scientist Prize from the Zoological Society of Japan. His main research subjects are the molecular mechanisms and evolution underlying color formation and color vision in insects.
