During his studies he develpoped an interest in surgical specialties, especially general and orthopedic surgery. For this reason, he joined Dr. Hofmann's group to study the effects of osteoarthritis on human articular cartilage. In his research he employs Atomic Force Microscopy of cellular and extracellular components of articular cartilage with the goal to establish a new method for detection and possible mitigation of early-onset osteoarthritis.
