We beschrijven het gebruik van optogenetics en elektrofysiologische opnames voor selectieve manipulaties van hippocampal theta oscillaties (5-10 Hz) in gedragend muizen. De werkzaamheid van de entrainment ritme wordt gecontroleerd met behulp van lokale veld potentieel. Een combinatie van opto- en Farmacogenetische inhibitie adressen de efferent uitlezing van hippocampal synchronisatie.
