Jaewoo Pak regenerative medicine Mipro Medical Clinic Biography Publications Institution JoVE Articles Jaewoo Pak Dr. Jaewoo Pak is a Korean American physician currently practicing regenerative medicine in Seoul, Korea, specializing in cartilage regeneration using adipose stem cells in the form of stromal vascular fraction (SVF). Dr. Pak received his BA degree from University of California, Berkeley and MD degree from University Southern California in USA. After his training at UCLA affiliated hospital, he practiced clinical medicine in Southern California for few years. After realizing limited medical options to treat osteoarthritis, he started clinical research on cartilage regeneration using stem cells. In 2009, he relocated to Seoul, Korea and started practicing regenerative medicine using autologous adipose SVF for cartilage and bone regeneration. In July 2011, Dr. Pak published a case series showing successful results of treating osteoarthritis of knees and osteonecrosis of femoral heads. By publishing this article, Dr. Pak has showed for the first time the possibility of using autolgous adipose SVF to treat osteoarthritis patients by regenerating cartilage and osteonecrosis patients by regenerating bone.
