Dunbar Dr. Dunbar received a B.S. degree in Microbiology and Immunology and an MBA from the University of Maryland. She completed a Ph.D. in Medical Microbiology and Immunology from the University of South Alabama, College of Medicine and a post-doctoral fellowship in Clinical and Public Health Microbiology at Baylor College of Medicine. She began her professional career as the Laboratory Director at Virus Reference Laboratory in Houston, Texas. Dr. Dunbar joined Luminex as a Senior Scientist in 1999 and served as Senior Director of the Biology R&D group for eight years. This group developed assay protocols, techniques, and helped to determine the best practices for xMAP Technology. During this time, the laboratory developed more than one hundred multiplexed assay panels for proteins, nucleic acids and other biomolecules. Dr. Dunbar became Senior Director of Global Scientific Affairs in 2010. She has more than 45 publications in the peer-reviewed literature and numerous abstracts and seminars presented at scientific conferences.
