Valeria Venturini

Valeria Venturini is a PhD student working under the co-supervision of Dr. Stefan Wieser at ICFO, the Institute of Photonic Science, and Dr. Verena Ruprecht at CRG, Center for Genomic Regulation, in Barcelona (Spain). She received her degree in physics in Sapienza University in Rome, Italy. Her current work aims to understand how single cells can decode 3D shape changes in relation to their physical tissue micro-environment and accordingly regulate their behaviour. In particular, she investigates the role of the nucleus as a mechano-transducer of shape changes as well as nuclear mechanics.
