Vi beskriver procedurer for forberedelse og elektrofysiologiske optagelse fra hjernen skiver, der opretholder dorsal-ventral akse mediale entorhinal cortex (MEC). Fordi neurale kodning af placeringen følger en dorsal-ventral organisation i MEC, disse procedurer lette efterforskningen af cellulære mekanismer, der er vigtige for navigation og hukommelse.
