En ribosomalt RNA (rRNA) utarmning protokoll utvecklades för att berika budbärar-RNA (mRNA) för RNA-punkter i mygga tarmen metatranscriptome. Exempel specifika rRNA sonder, som används för att avlägsna rRNA via subtraktion, skapades från mygga och dess mikrober gut. Utförande av protokollet kan resultera i avlägsnande av ungefär 90-99% av rRNA.
