Un dispositif a été créé pour démontrer le contrôle électromyographie auprès d’un public laïque. Après le succès du dispositif initial, un deuxième appareil a été effectué avec une plus grande souplesse dans la fonctionnalité pour fins de recherche et de démonstration. Ce protocole décrit le processus de construction et d’étalonnage des deux appareils.
