Personen met chronische enkelinstabiliteit (CAI) vertonen posturale controledeficiëntie en vertraagde spieractivering van de onderste ledematen. Geautomatiseerde dynamische posturografie in combinatie met oppervlakte-elektromyografie biedt inzicht in de coördinatie van de visuele, somatosensorische en vestibulaire systemen met spieractiveringsregeling om de posturale stabiliteit bij personen met CAI te behouden.
