Nicole Etter Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders Pennsylvania State University Biography Publications Institution JoVE Articles Nicole EtterAssistant Professor Nicole Etter is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at the Pennsylvania State University. She received her undergraduate degree from Miami University (Oxford, Ohio) and Masters and Ph.D. from the University of Kentucky (Lexington, KY). She completed a post doctoral fellowship at the University of Sydney (Sydney, NSW, Australia).Dr. Etter's work focuses on the way adults incorporate sensory feedback for skilled oral behaviors, such as speech and swallowing. In the Orofacial Physiology and Perceptual Analysis Lab (OPPAL) - https://sites.psu.edu/oppal/ - Dr. Etter works to characterize the sensorimotor relationship in the face, including describing the plastic, or changing, relationship based on understanding how orofacial sensorimotor control changes due to age, lifestyle behaviors, disease or disorder.
