Godoy is an Assistant Professor of Veterinary Physiology at Long Island University College of Veterinary Medicine. He obtained his DVM degree from the Catholic University of Temuco, Chile and his PhD from the Justus Liebig University of Giessen, Germany. Dr. Godoy completed his postdoctoral training in the group of Christopher Horst Lillig at the Philipps University of Marburg, Germany, where he studied the role of thioredoxin family proteins in health and disease. Dr. Godoy’s current research at Long Island University focuses on the role of redox proteins in ischemic pathologies as well as in age-related diseases. He has published numerous articles in the field of redox biology and physiology and participated in various international conferences in Europe and the US. In addition, he serves as a reviewer board member of the journal “Antioxidants”, as well as an editorial board member of “Oxidative Medicine & Cellular Longevity”. Dr. Godoy is a regular member of the American Physiological Society (APS) and the Society for Redox Biology and Medicine (SfRBM).
