He received his undergraduate with honors degree from Banaras Hindu University (BHU) of India, and a Ph.D. from the Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR), India. During Dr. Mondal’s training he identified and developed small molecules against various cancers using different mammalian lines as well as Drosophila transgenic model system. He has identified some HIT molecules for which in depth mechanisms of action studies were performed and has published those in internationally impactful peer reviewed journals. His doctoral thesis work involved identifying the role of Drosophila Argonaute-1 in apoptosis. He then moved as a postdoctoral research associate to Dr. Sanchita Bhatnagar and Dr. Jogender Singh’s lab at the Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics Department, University of Virginia School of Medicine, Charlottesville, Virginia, USA (2018-19). Here he learned to use transgenic mice as a model organism and studied Oncogenic TRIM37-driven chemo-resistance in triple negative breast cancer. After that he shifted to Dr. Singh’s lab at the same place (2019-Present). Here he learned antibody engineering and is continuing his research on Cancer Immunotherapy.
