Burada, doğrudan ilgilenilen dokuya/organa ve cilde yapıştırılabilen optik olarak net, silikon pencereler kullanılarak uzun süreli intravital görüntüleme için bir yaklaşım sunulmuştur. Bu pencereler şu anda sahada kullanılan diğerlerinden daha ucuz ve çok yönlüdür ve cerrahi yerleştirme hayvanlarda sınırlı iltihaplanma ve sıkıntıya neden olur.
