Katarina Stoklund Dittlau Laboratory of Neurobiology VIB-KU Leuven Center for Brain and Disease Research Biography Publications Institution JoVE Articles Katarina Stoklund Dittlau Katarina Stoklund Dittlau is a doctoral researcher in the Laboratory of Neurobiology at the VIB-KU Leuven Center for Brain and Disease Research. In the group of Prof. Dr. Ludo Van Den Bosch, Katarina uses human induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSCs) to investigate the molecular mechanisms of motor neuron disorder amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). During her PhD, Katarina has developed a new model, which combines hiPSC-derived motor neurons with human muscle cells in microfluidic devices in the formation of functional human neuromuscular junctions. Using this model, her research focuses on the familial form of ALS caused by mutations in the FUS gene.Katarina is a veterinarian and received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree in 2018 from University of Copenhagen, Denmark.
