זוהי שיטה להפקת דיפלואידי gynogenetic עוברי דג הזברה (אשר עוברים רק תרומה גנטית מגיע מהאם) על ידי חסימת חלוקת meiotic מחרה מחזיק אחריה מיד לאחר ההפריה עם זרע אור אולטרה סגול מומת. עוברים EP אינם הומוזיגוטים במלואה עקב רקומבינציה במהלך החלוקה meiotic הראשון, אולם הם הומוזיגוטים בכלל לוקוסים שלא היה מופרד centromere שלהם על ידי רקומבינציה.
