Die schwere Organmangel hat zu einer erhöhten Nutzung von Grenznierentransplantate zur Transplantation geführt. Dies hat das Interesse an alternativen Speichermethoden ausgelöst, da marginal Transplantate besonders vertragen Kältespeicher schlecht. Die Technik der normothermen ex vivo Nierendurchblutung (NEVKP) stellt eine neuartige Konservierungsverfahren für Nierentransplantate vor der Transplantation.
