Dit protocol maakt de isolatie van Epstein-Barr-virusdeeltjes uit de menselijke P3HR1-cellijn mogelijk bij het induceren van de virale lytische cyclus met phorbol 12-myristate 13-acetaat. DNA wordt vervolgens geëxtraheerd uit het virale preparaat en onderworpen aan real-time PCR om de virale deeltjesconcentratie te kwantificeren.
