Denne protokollen tillater isolering av Epstein-Barr-viruspartikler fra den humane P3HR1-cellelinjen ved indusering av den virale lytiske syklusen med phorbol 12-myristat 13-acetat. DNA blir deretter ekstrahert fra viruspreparatet og utsatt for sanntids PCR for å kvantifisere viruspartikkelkonsentrasjonen.
