I denna studie presenteras en råttmodell av induktion av parodontit via en kombination av retentiv ligatur och repetitiva injektioner av lipopolysackarid härrörande från Porphyromonas gingivalis, under 14 dagar runt de första maxillära molarna. Ligerings- och LPS-injektionsteknikerna var effektiva för att inducera peridontit, vilket resulterade i alveolär benförlust och inflammation.
