וירוס-Induced השתקת הגן היא כלי שימושי לזיהוי גני המעורבים בהתנגדות nonhost של צמחים. אנו מדגימים את השימוש בחיידקים פתוגנים המבטאים GFPuv בזיהוי גנים מושתקים צמחים רגישים לפתוגנים nonhost. גישה זו היא קלה, מהירה ומאפשרת הקרנה בקנה מידה גדולה ופרוטוקול דומה ניתן ליישם בחקר אינטראקציות צמח חיידק אחרים שונות.
