Amplitude-gebaseerde optimale ademhalingsgating (ORG) verwijdert effectief ademhalingsvervaging uit klinische 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) positron emissietomografie (PET) beelden. Correctie van FDG-PET-beelden voor deze ademhalingsbewegingsartefacten verbetert de beeldkwaliteit, diagnostische en kwantitatieve nauwkeurigheid. Verwijdering van respiratoire bewegingsvoorwerpen is belangrijk voor een adequate klinische behandeling van patiënten die PET gebruiken.
