Een alternatieve manier van isoleren van muis embryonale motorneuronen van het ruggenmerg wordt beschreven. De methode houdt rekening met het feit dat de lectine kan binden aan de lage affiniteit zenuw groeifactor receptor p75NTR. Deze lectine-based preplating kan een zuivering vergelijkbaar met die met een specifiek antilichaam tegen de p75NTR.
