Hier presenteren we een protocol om te 'intestinale ligaturen loops' in kip dunne darmen operatief te maken. Deze procedure kan voor het vergelijken van meerdere Clostridium perfringens stammen virulentie in situ in één host. Deze methode vermindert aanzienlijk het aantal kippen meestal nodig voor soortgelijke in vivo experimenten.
