Das vorgestellte Protokoll beschreibt eine einfache chirurgische Entfernung des Blinddarms (Kaecal-Patch) in einer Maus, gefolgt von der Induktion von entzündlichem Darmerkrankungen-assoziiertem Dickdarmkrebs. Dieses murine Appendektomie-Modell ermöglicht die Untersuchung der biologischen Rolle des Blinddarms bei der Pathogenese der menschlichen Magen-Darm-Krankheit.
